October serves as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a period where public figures are highlighting personal experiences with the disease. Angeline Malik shared details of her own treatment journey, which included undergoing chemotherapy.
Malik urged her audience to prioritize medical screenings and seek assistance, stating, "Look, I love all my fans that I am standing in front of you right now. This battle against cancer never ends and we should talk about it. Because there were a lot of things that I did not know. I try to create awareness on my platform. Please get your tests done and do not ignore help. Because for me, I realised too late." Nadia Jamil, who received a breast cancer diagnosis in 2020, marked Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day on 13 October.
Jamil reflected on how the illness revealed her internal strength and taught her to advocate for her own needs. The actress noted that the experience provided her with a supportive community and a profound sense of faith.
She emphasized that patients are more than their medical labels, describing them as mothers, daughters, and friends with ongoing dreams. Jamil offered solidarity to those newly diagnosed, telling them, "And to every woman hearing those words for the first time this week: you are stronger than you know, and we are with you. Hum saath hain."
She concluded by asserting that while cancer takes much, it cannot strip away dignity, voice, or faith. Naila Jaffri, who previously advocated for television royalties for repeat broadcasts, died in Karachi on 17 July 2021.
The former actress was 56 years old at the time of her death.
