The Islamabad Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory regarding temporary diversions on the Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway, and other primary roads to facilitate the movement of cricket teams in the federal capital. Drivers traveling between Serena Chowk and Ninth Avenue on the Srinagar Highway will encounter diversions.
Alternative paths for the Srinagar Highway include Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road, G-9 Service Road, and Zero Point. Faisal Avenue serves as the substitute route for Faizabad, while Service Road East is the designated alternative for Ninth Avenue.
From Koral, motorists can use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi Murree Road, IJP Road, and Faqir Aipee Road. Lehtrar Road and Park Road provide options for those heading toward the Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, or Club Road.
Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road are the suggested routes for those leaving Islamabad, while Bani Gala and Park Road offer alternatives from Bhara Kahu. An ITP official stated that traffic pressure was expected to increase on major roads during the diversions.
The same official advised citizens to allow an additional 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys.
