John Mayer will release his new single, Life With John Mayer, across digital service providers at midnight on 23 October. Listeners can hear a preview of the track on 22 October.
Blake Slatkin produced the song, while Serban Genhea handled the mixing. Chaplin Studios served as the recording location for the new material.
Mayer and his partner, McG, own the Hollywood lot where the recording took place. The site originally functioned as Charlie Chaplin’s studio before it became the home of A&M and later Henson Studios.
As the co-frontman of Dead & Company, Mayer also served as the primary designer for the band's residencies at Sphere in 2024 and 2025. From 8 April to 12 June 2026, the musician will perform a series of concerts at Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Sphere performances will feature separate sets with his full band, the John Mayer Trio, and as a solo performer.
