The Ukrainian leader expressed readiness for negotiations to end the war, though he noted that some American decisions remain difficult to explain between friends. Trump told Newsmax that Zelensky is not a good person for the US to deal with and claimed the Ukrainian leader does not know what he is talking about. Russia currently occupies approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory.

At least 10 people died on Tuesday following Russian drone attacks. Five Russian S-400 missiles struck Kyiv on 12 October.

Steve Witkoff is scheduled to arrive in St Petersburg on Wednesday. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed the Kremlin would listen to what Witkoff has to offer.

Støre said the Oslo talks helped to straighten out a few things. William Taylor claimed the Trump administration is providing carrots to Russians and sticks to Ukrainians.

Marco Rubio stated that no one at the White House ordered anyone to slow down the internet. During a July 2019 telephone conversation, Trump asked Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden while the White House withheld $391 million in military assistance to Ukraine.
