The Health Services Academy (HSA) organised a panel discussion on knowledge synthesis and translation during the 16th Annual International Public Health Conference (AIPHC). Prof. Dr. Humaira Mahmood coordinated the session, which sought to promote evidence-informed policymaking and strengthen the connection between health research and policy development.
Participants focused on enhancing research capacity to generate high-quality evidence that aligns with national health priorities while converting scientific findings into effective public health policies. Attendees highlighted the necessity of multicentre and multidisciplinary research collaborations to tackle emerging public health challenges and support evidence-based decision-making.
The discussion also emphasised building the capacity of public health professionals in areas such as digital communication, stakeholder engagement, policy brief development, and timely knowledge translation. HSA acknowledged the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Shahzad Ali Khan, University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Sir Sohail Sabir, and conference chair Gen. Mehmood Sultan.
Co-chairs Dr. Shahid Baig and Dr. Ramesh Kumar were also recognised for their leadership roles. Zakiuddin Ahmed of HealthRAB joined the conversation from Karachi.
