Kimi Antonelli won the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, on 25 October. The 20-year-old driver secured his ninth win of the season after starting the race from pole position.
Antonelli maintained a 2-second lead by the end of the opening lap and remained out on track until lap 24. He finished 13.078 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc, who took second place.
Max Verstappen finished third, confirming he is mathematically out of the running for a fifth championship title. Lewis Hamilton took fourth, followed by Lando Norris in fifth and Isack Hadjar in sixth.
Oscar Piastri finished seventh, while George Russell took eighth after receiving a 5-second penalty for running off the track on the opening lap. Leclerc stated, "It was a good race, but unfortunately, we came up just short of our target which was victory, but it's positive for us."
The Dutchman noted that the team had good pace but the available tyres were not the right ones, adding that they were still on the podium despite some luck at the end. Antonelli said, "Good job everyone, that's the result we needed."
He credited the team's work on the new package and praised the strategy for calling for a one-stop. The driver noted that he needs to finish ninth in the Mexico race to claim the title.
