Birdbuddy released the Birdbuddy Nook and Birdbuddy Home smart bird feeders to the public. The company discontinued the Birdbuddy Pro, which had launched in 2024.

Amazon currently lists the Birdbuddy Pro for $239.99. Pricing for the new models starts at $99 for the Birdbuddy Nook, while the Birdbuddy Home costs $219.

Additional Nook variants include a Solar version for $159 and an Extended Edition for $199. A perch extender for the devices is available for $43.

Users can access the Birdbuddy app via a monthly subscription of $7.99 or an annual fee of $69.99. Connectivity differs between the models, with the Nook supporting 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and the Home supporting 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

Capacity varies by model, as the Birdbuddy Home holds six cups of seed compared to just under four cups in the Birdbuddy Nook. Power options include two solar panels on the Birdbuddy Home and one solar panel on the Birdbuddy Nook Solar.

The Birdbuddy Nook camera can rotate to a 135-degree landscape view. Livestream speeds improved significantly, with the Birdbuddy Nook appearing in under 8 seconds compared to about 30 seconds for the Birdbuddy Pro.

Both the Nook and Home cameras feature 2K HDR image quality and offer both portrait and landscape modes. A firmware update allowed the Birdbuddy Home battery to last around 3 months.

Mounting options for the Nook and Home feeders include hanging or pole-mounting. Design changes mean the roof on the Nook and Home feeders no longer fully covers the seed tray.

Charging these feeders requires the removal of the camera housing. The Nook and Home models were first announced at CES in January.

Birdbuddy originally released its first product in 2022. Existing customers received the Birdbuddy Home through the app a few months before October 2026.
