Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a high-level Brazilian military delegation at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Admiral Renato Rodrigues De Aguiar Freire, the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Brazil, led the visiting group.

Upon his arrival at GHQ, Admiral Freire received a guard of honour from a tri-services contingent. The two sides explored avenues for enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation while discussing the regional security environment and matters of mutual interest.

Freire praised the operational preparedness and professionalism shown by the Pakistan Armed Forces. The Brazilian chief also acknowledged how the Pakistan Armed Forces contribute to stability and peace in the region.

Recent diplomatic activity at GHQ included a meeting three days ago with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani. On 7 October, Lieutenant General Aleksandr Volfovich led a high-level delegation from the Republic of Belarus to meet with Munir.

During that visit, the Belarusian delegation and Pakistan discussed global and regional security trends.
