Donald Trump cancels livestream of Nidal Hasan firing squad execution in US

Donald Trump announced on 15 October that the firing squad execution of Nidal Hasan will not be livestreamed. The former president stated that while the man "will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth originally proposed the livestreaming plan to show how America handles terrorists. Trump noted that "many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die."
The execution is scheduled for 3 December at Fort Hood, Texas. This event marks the first time a US military firing squad will carry out an execution since 1945.
Hegseth previously said, "we'll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it's public." Nidal Hasan killed 13 people in 2009.
The immediate family of the victims may view the execution in person.
