Russia strikes Ukrainian drone warehouse and cargo ship before high-profile meeting
Russia struck a cargo vessel transporting military supplies to Ukraine while it was heading toward the port of Odessa on Wednesday. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that forces also hit a warehouse complex in Poltava used for storing drones.
This specific facility houses an electric power substation that provides electricity to Kyiv's logistics centres, industrial sectors, and defence operations. These military actions took place only hours before Steve Witkoff was scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
