China and Pakistan are presenting an alternative vision for the Middle East to address regional instability. The two countries have endorsed a five-point initiative designed to foster stability in the region.
This five-point plan calls for immediate ceasefires, the protection of secure maritime shipping routes, and full adherence to the UN Charter. Professor Cheng Xizhong stated that Pakistan possesses unique credibility across the Islamic world.
According to Cheng, Pakistan maintains trusted and open communication channels with Iran, Gulf nations, and various regional stakeholders. China continues to keep dialogue open with every party involved in the regional conflicts.
Cheng noted that China's core principle is that disputes should be settled through negotiations instead of blockades or missiles. The coordination between China and Pakistan is non-aligned, and the two nations are not attempting to establish a new military bloc.
Diplomacy cannot erase long-standing tensions overnight, Cheng said. Persistent challenges remain, including historic rivalries, vital trade corridors, and competing energy interests.
The China-Pakistan approach combines patient shuttle diplomacy with consistent communication while avoiding inflammatory rhetoric.
