Pakistan arrests man for using Claude AI to plan murder of ex-girlfriend

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested a man after registering an FIR against him for allegedly using Claude AI to brainstorm ways to kill his former girlfriend. Authorities initiated the inquiry following statements made by the suspect that expressed a clear intention to murder his former partner.
Officials clarified that the investigation focuses on the user's conduct rather than any confirmed role played by Claude in facilitating a crime. The NCCIA warned the public against using artificial intelligence for intimidation, threats, or any other criminal activities.
Users are urged by the agency to exercise responsibility when interacting with digital platforms and AI tools. Protecting citizens remains a priority for the NCCIA, which is committed to investigating cyber-enabled threats and ensuring accountability through lawful processes.
