For his actions, Janjua received the Hilal-e-Kashmir and the Nishan-e-Haider. A news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated, "During the 1948 conflict, Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed displayed exemplary bravery and steadfast determination while defending the strategically vital Pir Kaleva Ridge against relentless enemy assaults. Refusing to yield in the face of overwhelming adversity, he led from the front and made the ultimate sacrifice in the highest tradition of military service."
