Supreme Court establishes Legal Aid Cell to assist litigants

The Supreme Court of Pakistan launched a Legal Aid Cell on 19 October to provide support to the public. Located at the Public Facilitation Centre (PFC), the cell operates as part of a one-window facility designed for visitors and litigants.
A specific legal assistant now works at the cell to guide individuals through the judicial process. Nearly 20 different services are available to the public through the PFC online portal.
The court also introduced the 1818 helpline to facilitate communication. "The idea is to ensure that a citizen does not have to know which branch to approach, whom to contact, or where to go merely to obtain an answer," said Shumaila Naz.
