Pakistani actor, singer, and composer Samar Jafri cancelled his scheduled performance in Hyderabad due to crowd misbehaviour and safety concerns. Team Samar Jafri stated that the situation raised fears regarding potential harassment, specifically targeting women, and the risk of a stampede or overcrowding.
The artist expressed his disappointment in a statement, saying, "Hyderabad, I was genuinely excited to perform for you. I came here looking forward to sharing a special evening with you all, and it genuinely hurts that things unfolded the way they did." Jafri prioritised the well-being of the audience over his appearance, noting, "As much as I wanted to get on that stage, the safety and well-being of everyone present had to come first."
The performer called off the show to prevent harm, adding, "Samar was genuinely excited to perform for his fans in Hyderabad. However, due to crowd misbehaviour and growing safety concerns at the venue, Samar made the difficult decision to call off the show to prevent potential harassment, particularly towards women, and to avoid the risk of overcrowding or a stampede." Organisers must make safety their foremost priority and ensure every venue arrangement meets that standard, the artist's team said.
Jafri, who gained recognition through the 2025 television drama Parwarish, also appeared in the recent Express Entertainment thriller Raja London Ka. He concluded by thanking supporters and stating, "Thank you to everyone who stood by us. I hope we get to share a better, safer, and more beautiful evening together someday."
