Eric Simons is joining the England Test set-up to serve as the bowling coach. The 64-year-old coach previously managed the South Africa team for two years between 2002 and 2004.

Simons represented South Africa in 23 one-day internationals during 1994 and 1995 before also serving as the bowling coach for India. England will announce a new round of central contracts on Monday.

Stephen Fleming is currently assembling a backroom team for his first series in charge against South Africa this December. Brendon McCullum leads the white-ball teams, while Marcus Trescothick took interim charge of the Test side for the series against Pakistan.

Kevin Pietersen has been appointed as a batting consultant to the white-ball teams and is scheduled to join the squad for three one-day internationals in South Africa in January. Pietersen will not be on the tour of Pakistan, but he is due to join the squad for a white-ball tour of Australia.

David Saker, Jeetan Patel, Mike Yardy and Carl Hopkinson are all part of the England staff for the one-day tri-series in Pakistan this month. Tim Southee and Sarah Taylor might rejoin the team later in the winter.
