Katie Zacharia has left her position as White House Press Secretary in the United States after serving for only three days. A White House official stated on 16 October that Zacharia was "let go" from the post.

President Trump informed reporters on 16 October that he intends to discuss a new role with Zacharia. Fox News reported on 16 October that Zacharia would be "transitioning out" of the job.

Zacharia began the role on 13 October, having received a call regarding the press secretary position on 08 October. The appointment was offered on 10 October to succeed Karoline Leavitt, and Trump announced the selection while describing Zacharia as an attorney.

Despite the official description, Zacharia is not licensed to practice law and did not pass the bar exam. Zacharia admitted during a Fox News interview on 15 October that she did not pass the bar.

She is a graduate of the law school at California's Pepperdine University. During her debut briefing on 14 October, Zacharia held a 14-minute press conference and answered three questions.

Trump said, "I told her: 'I think you're better off being happy, and I'm not sure you can ever be happy in this stuff.' There's nothing easy about this stuff."
