Sui Southern Gas Company to shut down Sher Shah mainline for repairs

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will shut down its 24-inch Sher Shah mainline overnight to conduct repair work. The maintenance operation is set to start at 22:00 on 17 October and conclude by 09:00 on 18 October.
Low gas pressure might impact several Karachi areas, including Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Saeedabad, Naval Colony, Musharraf Colony, and Mawach Goth, if the work takes longer than planned. Parts of Orangi Town, such as Gulshan-e-Bahar, Gulshan-e-Zia, Sector 16, and Ghaziabad, could also experience a decline in pressure.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik instructed the SSGC board to create a sustainable business strategy. Malik also stressed the importance of decreasing unaccounted-for gas.
Management reported that gas losses by volume in Karachi have dropped by approximately 57%. Domestic consumers have been receiving gas three times every day.
