University of Karachi hosts Frontiers of Physics National Symposium

The Karachi Physics Society and Pakistan Physical Society jointly organised the Frontiers of Physics National Symposium at the University of Karachi on 6 and 7 October. High-energy physics, quantum technologies, condensed matter, biomedical physics and sustainable energy formed the core subjects of the academic gathering.
A delegation of 25 students and faculty members from Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, travelled to the venue to participate in the proceedings. Four faculty members joined the students, including two women and two men.
Nearly 12 hours of bus travel each way was required for the group to reach the symposium. Prof Dr Tehmina Mangan, the Vice Chancellor of Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, approved the trip despite current austerity pressures.
The author of the report retired from the University of Karachi during the course of the symposium.
