The University of Karachi held an entry test on Sunday for 6,669 candidates seeking admission to the 2027 morning programme across 20 disciplines. A total of 7,265 individuals submitted admission forms for the available seats, according to Prof Dr Saima Akhtar.

Prof Dr Saima Akhtar stated that 23 applications were cancelled due to incomplete forms or candidates failing intermediate examinations. The university reported an attendance rate of 96.1% for the examination, which began at 11am across 20 different centres.

The assessment covered 1,402 seats and included the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) morning and evening programmes. Prof Dr Saima Akhtar noted that 303 candidates applied for both Pharm-D and bachelor's programmes, but received admit cards only for the Pharm-D test.

Results for these dual applicants will be considered for both programmes and uploaded to the university's website and online portals. The Karachi University Assessment and Testing Service (KUATS) has conducted entry tests for 8 years without any reported paper leak, Prof Dr Saima Akhtar said.

University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Waseem Qazi and Registrar Prof Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui visited various departments during the proceedings. Logistical support included university buses at all entrance gates to transport candidates, while security personnel were stationed around faculty buildings and entry points.

Medical officers, healthcare staff, and an ambulance were stationed on-site to manage any emergencies.
