The Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought a report from the federal government regarding over 50 Pakistanis who reportedly went missing after travelling overseas over the last three years. Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir issued the notice while hearing a petition submitted by Afzal Hussain, a resident of Phalia tehsil in Mandi Bahauddin district.

Shafqat Abbas Tarar stated that more than 50 young men from the area travelled abroad using unconventional methods and have not been located since their departure. The counsel also requested the court to instruct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to initiate consular investigations in the relevant nations and ask Pakistani embassies and consulates to assist in tracing the missing citizens.

Directing the Assistant Attorney General (AAG) to the rostrum, the court ordered him to examine the matter and submit a report at the subsequent hearing. Subsequently, the IHC issued a notice to the federal government and adjourned the case until 2 November.
