The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority initiated a province-wide operation against businesses selling substandard food products. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi issued the directives for the enforcement action.

Director General Kashif Iqbal Jillani led surprise inspections of butcher shops, milk shops, slaughterhouses, and other food outlets. Teams conducted these checks in Faqirabad, Peshawar, and along Dalazak Road and Charsadda Road.

A warning notice was issued to one milk shop for failing to meet hygiene standards. Jillani visited a slaughterhouse in Shah Alam on Charsadda Road to assess conditions.

He ordered staff at the Shah Alam facility to improve cleanliness and follow food safety regulations. Jillani told food safety teams across the province to increase inspections and pursue strict legal action against violators.

Officials were instructed to tighten monitoring of hygiene during the preparation, storage, transportation, and sale of food. Director Operations Muhammad Yousaf and Deputy Director Peshawar Division Zeeshan Mehsud joined the inspection team.
