Secretary Housing and Works retired Captain Mohammad Mahmood directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to accelerate development work on the Sky Garden Housing Project. He also instructed that FGEHA must complete all pending matters within the stipulated timelines.
Furthermore, the Secretary advised officials to minimize unnecessary land cutting and to protect pine trees and other vegetation. He stressed that suitable measures must be employed to prevent soil erosion and stabilize slopes across the site.
A comprehensive water channelization plan, accounting for natural water-flow routes and rainwater, must also be prepared by FGEHA. Possession of the housing units should only be granted after FGEHA completes necessary basic facilities and confirms quality residential infrastructure.
Officials confirmed that development work in Blocks A, B, and D of Package-I has reached its final stages. FGEHA plans to hand over possession of these three blocks—A, B, and D—by 31 December 2026.
The project encompasses 4,255 plots in total, with 2,470 of those plots already allotted.
