An Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) started recording witness statements regarding the barricade removal case on 14 October. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided over the hearing while prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain Kiyani asked the court to record the statements.
Imaan Mazari, Hadi Ali Chattha and their legal counsel boycotted the court proceedings. Hadi stated, "We request the court to call us into the courtroom," and added that "The court has said that all stakeholders must be satisfied."
Eemal Khan Mandokhail claimed he was unable to meet Imaan and Hadi at Adiala Jail on the previous day. Roads were blocked approximately 1.5 kilometres from Adiala Jail during that time, and jail authorities said the accused would be produced via video link.
Police and prison officials reported that no special vehicle was available to transport the accused to court on that day. Shireen Mazari called for privacy, noting that everything in the meeting room was recorded.
The ATC framed charges against Imaan and Hadi on 7 October after previously directing jail authorities to facilitate meetings on 13 October. The court issued a contempt notice to the Adiala jail superintendent on 27 September but ended those proceedings on 29 September.
Imaan and Hadi were rearrested on 17 September, though the Supreme Court later granted them bail and suspended their sentences in a separate social-media posts case.
