South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is expected to feature in the second Test match against Australia on Sunday. The 31-year-old athlete has recovered from a hamstring injury that sidelined him since May 2024.
Rabada sat out the opening Test in Durban as a precautionary measure. Captain Temba Bavuma noted that "KG (Rabada) looks good," and observed that the broadcaster continued to show him bowling on the big screen during play breaks.
Bavuma added that Rabada remains "bubbly as ever within the changing room." The Proteas lost by 214 runs in the first Test, where Ryan Rickelton failed to reach double figures in both innings.
The second match will take place in Gqeberha. Bavuma stated, "The guys that you saw who took the field are guys that we have full confidence in," while acknowledging, "It's not the way you want to start a series, any kind of series, let alone just against a top outfit like Australia."
South Africa may consider changes to the lineup after several batters struggled in the opening match.
"KG (Rabada) looks good," said Temba Bavuma.
