British Jewish organisations will gather in central London on Wednesday for a vigil to honour the victims of the 7 October attacks in Israel. The Board of Deputies of British Jews stated that Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel, resulting in the murder of 1,200 men, women and children, injuring thousands, and taking 251 people captive.
Furthermore, the Jewish Leadership Council asserted that 7 October represented “the deadliest day for our people since the Holocaust”. The Community Security Trust (CST) recorded 1,926 antisemitic incidents across the UK between January and June 2026.
The prime minister described the increase in antisemitic behaviour within the UK since 2023 as “disturbing”. An attack by Jihad Al-Shamie occurred at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
Melvin Cravitz, aged 66, died from multiple stab wounds, while Adrian Daulby, aged 53, was killed by a bullet fired by armed police.
