Israeli airstrikes continued in Gaza, even after a ceasefire was established a year ago. Israeli attacks killed at least two Palestinians in Gaza on Tuesday.

Gaza medics reported that airstrikes in Beit Lahiya and Khan Younis on Wednesday killed at least two Palestinians and injured others. The UN’s humanitarian coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Ramiz Alakbarov, stated that the health situation in Gaza remained critical.

Palestinians in Gaza currently face shortages encompassing water, nourishing food, disease, unemployment, and the threat of death. Israeli authorities assert that adequate supplies are reaching Gaza, noting that more than 600 trucks enter the territory daily.

Hamas has reportedly rebuilt a basic administration within the third section of Gaza, an area outside Israeli military control. Donald Trump’s proposed plan to conclude the war in Gaza has stalled.

One international aid worker now based in Amman, Jordan, who worked in Gaza throughout much of the conflict, stated, “It is what we feared … a ceasefire that just isn’t a ceasefire.” Kilani, who previously worked in Gaza, stated, “We are exhausted and we have lost hope.”

Kilani also remarked that seeing green fields, grapes, and figs now causes surprise, as these sights were once simply part of their lives. Abu Taiba mentioned that the only activity she still performs from her former life is beauty work, where she cuts hair and applies makeup for weddings in the tents.
