Chakwal residents demand 600-bed hospital to replace 200-bed facility

Public demands are increasing for a modern, fully equipped hospital with a minimum of 600 beds in the Chakwal district. The District Headquarters Hospital in Chakwal currently provides 200 beds for a local population of approximately 2,000,000.
Patients with complicated illnesses, including cancer and heart, kidney, or liver diseases, frequently must be transferred to Islamabad or Rawalpindi. Three interchanges of the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway are located within the district.
People injured in traffic accidents between the Salt Range and Neela Interchange are transported to the District Headquarters Hospital. A modern district hospital should feature specialist doctors, operation theatres, intensive care units, emergency services, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
