Rawalpindi authorities dispose of 660 building map approval cases

Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation officials disposed of 660 out of 712 cases regarding the approval of residential and commercial building maps. Work continues on the 52 remaining cases, with 14 currently at the completion stage.
Authorities rejected 21 applications while 17 others remain pending due to specific objections. Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir chaired a meeting on Thursday, 22 October 2026, to review these matters.
Nasir instructed officials to gather data on all commercial building maps approved over the previous three years. The Deputy Commissioner ordered the immediate transfer of any staff members facing complaints and demanded swift action against field workers.
Road-cutting charges must be recovered from the specific departments responsible for damaging infrastructure. Officials were further directed to ensure that all ongoing development projects reach completion by April.
