Pakistan cyber agency warns public against sharing personal identity documents

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) issued a public alert urging citizens to safeguard their national identity cards, personal documents, and sensitive data. Sharing personal information without considering the potential consequences could lead to fraudulent activities, the agency warned.
Citizens are advised to provide copies of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) only to entities that are credible and trusted. Authorities recommend reporting any instances where personal information is used wrongfully to the relevant agencies.
In Karachi, the NCCIA recently rescued a 13-year-old girl who was trapped within a dark web network. The government announced a plan to provide 500,000 Chromebooks for students.
