Pakistan considers daily LPG price updates to curb winter hoarding

The Pakistani government is weighing a transition from monthly to daily LPG price setting to manage market fluctuations. Northern areas of the country have seen liquefied petroleum gas prices reach Rs750 per kilogram.
Implementing a daily pricing mechanism is intended to prevent sharp price increases during the winter and discourage hoarding by traders. Importers have requested a revision of the current pricing formula, suggesting that rates be updated on a weekly or daily basis rather than every month.
There is uncertainty regarding whether this policy shift could result in cylinder prices exceeding Rs10,000. Pakistan Railways announced a $2.5 billion Karachi-Rohri Track project.
The government also announced the provision of 500,000 Chromebooks for students. A 13-year-old girl was rescued from a Dark Web network by the NCCIA Karachi.
Pakistani e-passports in the UAE are now available for just Rs11,000.
