Banijay Entertainment forms from merger to target US scripted production

Banijay and All3Media merged to create Banijay Entertainment, a company now seeking to expand into United States scripted production. The firm acquired The Forge Entertainment to bolster its portfolio.
Banijay Entertainment produced the series Ripley and the HBO show War. Other projects by the company include House of Guinness and The Wanted Man for Apple, which featured George Kay.
The company owns Pokeepsie in Spain, which produced Drawn Together for Amazon, and also owns Groenlandia in Italy. Retaining intellectual property is a primary focus for Banijay Entertainment, as the UK model frequently allows for keeping 50% of the IP.
Netflix is currently searching for more US hits while both the streamer and Hollywood studios operate under financial pressure.
