New Stanford Prison Experiment concludes after 13 days of social testing

The New Stanford Prison Experiment concluded on its 13th day of operation. Participants moved through four specific stages: Transformation, Hierarchy, Role-Reversal, and Self-Governance.
During the Role-Reversal phase, Pete and Brandon were assigned as guards while Chet Hudson was converted into an inmate. Hudson resigned from the experiment after one day.
Chris Lee, a 41-year-old startup CEO, and Laura Berens, a CEO and entrepreneur, were involved in the study. Three female guards from a different shift stepped in to prevent inmates from attacking Pete and Brandon.
All established rules were discarded during the final Self-Governance phase. Prisoners exited the facility together while walking arm-in-arm.
Mike Paramore suggested that the image of the participants represented racial unity. Lipsitz and Cutforth expressed hope for a second season of the project.
Philip Zimbardo conducted the original trial in 1971.
