Punjab University seeks to resume private BA and MA examinations

Punjab University has resolved to restart private BA and MA examinations, according to a recent decision by the university Syndicate. The institution sent a formal letter to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly to request the necessary permissions.
Two years ago, the HEC placed a ban on these private degree programmes, which the university argues has limited higher education opportunities for many people. University officials noted that private exams provided a critical route for residents in remote and rural regions to pursue further studies.
Furthermore, the Syndicate highlighted that these programs allowed students who are currently employed to continue their academic progress.
