Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo launched the Jakarta Film Summit 2026 to promote the city as a destination for the global film industry. The event continues until 22 October 2026 and hosts more than 500 participants from 10 different countries.

Forty speakers are scheduled to present at the summit. Tuesday's sessions focused on government support for productions, specifically regarding the opening of shooting locations throughout Jakarta.

An ASEAN Film Alliance Network panel discussed strategies for regional talent development, fundraising, and establishing co-productions. The summit will transition to a focus on financing on 21 October 2026.

Film commissioners and production companies will participate in a Jakarta Scouting Day to visit sites such as Muara Angke Harbor, Kota Tua, Pasar Rumput, and the Bundaran HI Skydeck. The initiative "The Two Cities" will explore collaborative opportunities between Jakarta and Hong Kong.

Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that Jakarta is equipped to attract more filmmakers, investors, and shoots from across the region.
