Tecno has expanded its Spark 50 smartphone lineup by introducing the Spark 50s and the Spark 50C. The Spark 50s joins the existing Spark 50 4G, Spark 50 5G, and Spark 50 Pro models.

A surprise addition to the series, the Spark 50C was also unveiled during the launch. FreeLink 2.0 technology enables users to send text messages and make calls without a network connection within a 1.5km range.

The Spark 50s features a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Durability is a key focus, as the Spark 50s carries an IP64 Pro rating and MIL-STD-810H certification.

In contrast, the Spark 50C provides IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. A MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset powers the Spark 50s, which runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.

Memory and storage options for the Spark 50s include 6GB or 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage, with support for microSD cards up to 2TB. The Spark 50s is equipped with a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP front camera.

A 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging provides power for the Spark 50s. Pricing for the Spark 50s starts at approximately $211 for the 6GB + 128GB model and reaches around $242 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.

The Spark 50C is a 4G smartphone powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. It features 4GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, a 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera.

A 5,200mAh battery with 15W fast charging powers the Spark 50C. Tecno has not yet announced the price or availability for the Spark 50C.

WhatsApp is rolling out guest calls, allowing people to join calls from a web browser without an account. WhatsApp says guest calls are free, have no time limit, and are end-to-end encrypted.

Up to 32 participants can join these guest calls. Guests can raise their hands, react with emojis, and share their screens during the session.

Participants cannot see the phone numbers of other guests or send messages during the call. The app is currently being updated for Android and iOS to include these guest calls.

WhatsApp has not provided a date for when guest calls will be available to all users. The company is also working on integrations with Outlook and Google Calendar.

WhatsApp says the calendar integration feature is expected later this year.
