Essex signs wicketkeeper George Bell on permanent two-year deal from Lancashire

Essex have secured wicketkeeper George Bell from Lancashire on a permanent two-year contract. The 24-year-old spent the conclusion of the 2026 season on loan with the club.
Bell made three appearances for Essex during that campaign, scoring a half-century in every innings. He finished in the 60s in all three of those outings.
Bell has played 37 first-class matches since making his debut for Lancashire in 2022. The wicketkeeper has accumulated over 1,400 runs, including nine half-centuries and a high score of 99.
He previously represented England at the under-21 level. Bell said, "I believe this is an environment that will help me to develop my game further and hopefully contribute to Essex wins and trophies."
