National Trust for Jersey secures land rights near Maupertuis Farm

The National Trust for Jersey secured the rights to acquire land near Maupertuis Farm in St Clement. The Trust hopes to finalise the purchase in the near future.
This acquisition will help preserve the agricultural heritage of Maupertuis Farm and the surrounding region. Alan Le Maistre stated that green spaces were becoming "ever more precious" and protecting them was particularly important in densely developed parts of the island.
He added that it is a privilege to extend this green lung for both the wildlife and people of the area. Currently, the National Trust for Jersey manages approximately 1,800 vergées of land across the island.
Previously, the Trust raised £50,000 over 37 days to purchase a nearby field on Samares Lane in 2021.
