Rawalpindi Commissioner Salman Ghani orders zero tolerance for medical negligence

Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani warned that zero tolerance will be observed against professional negligence in government health facilities. Ghani conducted a comprehensive performance audit of staff discipline and operational arrangements at Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
During the inspection, the commissioner reviewed duty rosters, cleanliness protocols, and diagnostic procedures across several wards. The official ordered hospital administrations to maintain an uninterrupted supply of medicine.
Strict compliance with dengue treatment protocols was mandated to ensure rapid diagnostic testing and immediate therapeutic intervention for vector-borne patients. Ghani issued directives for mandatory 24-hour patient monitoring and required 100 percent attendance of paramedical personnel and medical officers across all shifts.
Medical superintendents were instructed to keep diagnostic machinery fully operational and enforce rigorous sanitation standards throughout the facility. "Provision of timely, high-quality medical services in public sector hospitals remains a non-negotiable administrative priority," Salman Ghani said.
