The 300-year-old traditional clay toy ghughu ghoray has virtually disappeared from the modern marketplace. Craftsmen and potters have abandoned the profession, leading to a sharp decline in production since the early 20th century.

Nomadic women from various communities sold these toys during the 19th century. Historical links connect ghughu ghoray to the ancient Indus Valley Civilization of Harappa and Mohenjo-daro.

Potters and nomadic tribes in Punjab, specifically in Multan and Attock, traditionally manufactured the items. Artisans created the clay versions using fine soil gathered from the Chenab and Ravi rivers.

Nomadic tribes also produced a variation of the toy using straw, reeds, waste paper, and old cloth. Cheap plastic and electronic toys imported from China have contributed significantly to the decline of ghughu ghoray.

Kamil Shah has operated a toy shop in Rawalpindi for the last 24 years.

Health experts have called for the implementation of mandatory, evidence-based warning labels on the front of food packaging. Non-communicable diseases account for approximately 47.22 per cent of total deaths in Pakistan, according to the World Health Organization.

Prominent labels on packaged goods can assist consumers in identifying items with high levels of salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats. Consuming these ingredients in excess is linked to higher risks of obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and type 2 diabetes.

The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination stressed the need for public awareness and evidence-based nutrition policies. Mandatory labels might prompt manufacturers to reformulate products to lower unhealthy ingredient content, though this remains uncertain.

Reducing diet-related health risks requires coordinated action between the government, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) launched an animated video in Pashto to educate the public on reporting suspected adverse drug reactions. The National Pharmacovigilance Centre (NPC) produced the content to enhance safety information access for both patients and healthcare providers.

By providing guidance in the local language, the project intends to bypass existing communication hurdles. DRAP urged individuals and medical staff to notify the National Pharmacovigilance Centre or the Provincial Pharmacovigilance Centre of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa about any issues.

Researchers discovered a new species of tyrannosaur in Canada named Tromerosaurus solumons. The predator lived 77 million years ago and reached a length of 8 metres.

First foot fossils of the creature were unearthed in southern Alberta in 2010 and 2011. Anatomical features include a small sinus system similar to Gorgosaurus libratus and a hole near the front of the upper jaw like Daspletosaurus.

Experts classified the predator as an early member of the albertosaurine group. Powers stated, "It was just so different and so unique that it was very clearly a new species."

The discovery suggests that tyrannosaur evolution might be more complicated than a simple stepwise growth into T. rex. Voris said, "We need to go deeper in the rock record."

Parliamentarians no longer need to secure a Non-Objection Certificate or prior permission to obtain passports. Identity and status verification for these officials has moved to a higher level of authority.

This administrative shift does not create any new approval mandates for the representatives. Officials discussed the issuance of passports for the children of parliamentarians up to the age of 28 with a committee and parliamentary party leaders.

The government plans to introduce legislation to rectify legal inconsistencies and address specific concerns. None of the 30,000 passports recently revoked belonged to any political representatives.

Current rules permit the issuance of passports with varying durations. Lawmakers are not being stripped of their lifetime passport privileges.

The updated process aims to be more effective and easier to navigate.

Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry told the Senate on Monday that the issuance of blue passports could impact Pakistan’s global passport ranking. Chaudhry stated that the number of blue passport holders might create complications during negotiations with Canada and other nations.

The senator argued that the government should review existing entitlements rather than granting the facility to more individuals. He specifically opposed a proposal to grant blue passports to the children of former parliamentarians and senators.

Authorities have already reduced the number of blue passports from 75,000 to 45,000. None of the cancelled passports belonged to political representatives.

Pakistan has spent the last 18 to 24 months seeking visa-free travel and other travel facilities with Gulf, European, and other countries. Chaudhry noted that the current issuance of these passports could also affect efforts to secure visa-free travel arrangements with other countries.

Any efforts to defame the welfare scheme by undermining the prospects of the youth will be exposed under the law. The government stated that false propaganda using microphones will not be permitted.

The Punjab government approved the recruitment of new intelligence operators for the Special Branch. Authorities initially proposed filling 113 vacancies for Intelligence Operator (BS-7) roles.

The Punjab Finance Department recommended hiring only 61 operators instead of the original number. Limited financial resources prompted this lower recommendation from the department.

Officials stated the government must account for future pension payments and long-term salary expenses. Punjab’s chief secretary backed the Finance Department's move to decrease the number of positions.

The provincial cabinet approved the recruitment proposal through circulation.

A high-level delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) visited Pakistan's National Institute of Health (NIH) on 19 October. The mission intended to improve disease surveillance and foster multi-sectoral cooperation using the One Health framework.

Officials focused on expanding the capacity of the disease surveillance workforce by providing better professional development and training. Such training aims to help workers detect diseases early and respond to outbreaks more quickly.

Both parties stressed the necessity of better coordination between the environmental, animal, and human health sectors. This partnership seeks to build a more robust public health infrastructure across the country.

The collaboration intends to enhance technical skills, improve the sharing of information across sectors, and support unified responses to potential outbreaks. The One Health approach acknowledges that human, animal, and environmental health are interconnected.

This strategy encourages joint initiatives to prevent, identify, and manage various public health risks.

He challenged Rehman to provide documentary evidence to support his claims. Abbasi also condemned comparing the salaries of the armed forces to their sacrifices.
