Pakistan government shifts P3A administrative control to Privatisation Division
The government moved the administrative control of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) from the Planning Division to the Privatisation Division. Powers were shifted to the provinces following the 18th Amendment, which moved responsibilities such as agriculture, education, and health downward.
Qualified Projects are classified as such because they require specific government backing. The Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) subjects these Qualified Projects to a more rigorous review process.
Federal development expenditure reached approximately Rs1.05 trillion during the same period. The Finance Division reported that circular debt amounted to about Rs1.89 trillion in FY25.
Total power purchase costs reached roughly Rs2.94 trillion in FY25, according to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
