The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) will execute an agreement on Tuesday, granting the PCB management of Niaz Stadium for a period of twenty years. Under the terms, the PCB will pay HMC a monthly rent amounting to 10,000 Rupees.

Furthermore, HMC will receive twenty percent of the revenue generated from the stadium's gate tickets. Ownership of Niaz Stadium will remain with the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

The PCB will secure full administrative authority and rights concerning all commercial and broadcasting activities at the venue. The board also plans to upgrade the stadium to meet international standards.

The stadium, which was first established in 1959, has a capacity of approximately 15,000 spectators. Cricket first played first-class matches at the location in 1962.

The venue hosted its initial Test match during the 1972-73 season. A 1987 World Cup match, featuring Pakistan against Sri Lanka, took place at the ground.

The last One Day International held at the venue occurred during the 1997-98 season. The ground's international standing subsequently diminished over the years.

The PCB undertook facility upgrades in 2007. An ODI contest between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was staged there in January 2008.

The ground remained under the board's management for eleven years before the Qasimabad Municipal Committee revoked the memorandum of understanding on 2 April 2018.
