G7 nations commit to releasing 100 million barrels of oil over four months
G7 countries agreed to release 100 million barrels of oil and oil-derivative products over the next four months. Previously, the G7 nations also agreed to immediately release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil.
The IEA's 32 member countries pledged a total of 400 million barrels of oil and oil-derivative products in March. To date, 325 million barrels of the IEA collective action have been released, accounting for more than 80 percent of the initial pledge.
Furthermore, the G7 countries confirmed there would be no ban on diesel exports among their members.
