Charlie Harmison signs two-year deal with Durham County Cricket Club

Charlie Harmison signed a two-year contract with Durham County Cricket Club. The 18-year-old Harmison stated, "I'm buzzing to have signed my first rookie deal."
He added that he anticipates "the hard work that lies ahead and hopefully contributing to helping the club to success in years to come." Harmison's family background includes connections to the Ashes urn, as he is the fourth son of members of the team that recovered the urn after an 18-year absence.
Previously, Steve Harmison featured in 63 Test matches for England between 2002 and 2009. The Durham side, which Steve Harmison was part of, secured the County Championship title in both 2008 and 2009.
Furthermore, the Chester-le-Street side achieved promotion to the top flight this season after winning the Division Two title. Other young players also signed rookie agreements, including Robbie Bowman, who is 19, and Luke Symington, who is 18.
