Seafarer families demand repatriation of bodies; Jamaat-e-Islami calls for compensation
Families of Pakistani seafarers demanded the immediate repatriation of the victims’ bodies. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi also called for compensation for the bereaved families.
Monem Zafar Khan visited the residence of Mehmood Ansari. During the visit, Khan called on the government to ensure the safe return of injured and other seafarers.
Furthermore, Khan urged authorities to facilitate the early repatriation of the mortal remains. Khan stated, “There is no substitute for human life, but it is the responsibility of the government to compensate the families of the martyrs.”
Masood Ansari reported that several days have passed since his brother's death, yet the body has not returned to Pakistan. The family staged a peaceful protest, but the Sindh government responded with a baton charge.
Muzammil Ansari thanked Jamaat-e-Islami for raising a voice regarding recovery and repatriation.
