Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi launches 10-day fumigation drive across city districts
Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi initiated a 10-day fumigation campaign covering every district of the city to combat disease. Monem Zafar inaugurated the drive, stating that the spray is necessary for all citizens regardless of political or regional affiliations.
Zafar noted that spraying alone cannot stop dengue and malaria, as the city requires better sanitation and drainage systems. The Sindh government, the Water Corporation, and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board must address issues caused by stagnant water and garbage heaps.
Despite a provincial health budget of Rs393 billion, Zafar claimed that patients at Jinnah Hospital, Civil Hospital, and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital do not receive improved medical treatment. Alkhidmat Karachi will also conduct spraying at government offices to prevent the breeding of flies and mosquitoes.
Naveed Ali Baig said Alkhidmat would spray residential areas, hospitals, educational institutions, and other private and government sites.
