Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria to leave streaming giant

Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria is departing the streaming platform after a decade of service. Bajaria joined the company in 2016 and was promoted to head of global operations in 2020.
In January 2023, the executive was appointed to her current role as chief content officer. Before moving to Netflix, Bajaria served as president of Universal Television at NBCUniversal.
The streaming service secured 30 Primetime Emmy awards in 2025 and another 16 awards during the 2026 ceremony. Industry history includes similar leadership shifts, such as when Bob Chapek ousted Rice from Disney in 2022.
Rice previously held the position of chairman of Walt Disney Television and served as chairman of general entertainment for the Walt Disney Company. During her time at Disney, Rice managed over 300 shows and more than 4,000 hours of television content annually.
