Pakistan launches seven-day hockey goalkeeping camp in Islamabad
Pakistan launched a seven-day hockey goalkeeping training camp in Islamabad to enhance the country's sporting standards. Fifteen junior and senior goalies are participating in the programme at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.
Dutch coach Bob Veldhof is leading the camp, where a specialist goalkeeping coach oversees sessions focused on modern techniques. Morning and evening sessions cover technical skills, physical fitness, and mental confidence to prepare athletes for the demands of modern hockey.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) stated the camp aims to strengthen the national team's defence and improve goalkeeping standards across the country. Recent years have seen Pakistan face various defence issues, leading to the belief that a robust goalkeeping department can improve back-end performance.
