Dar orders monitoring of essential commodity prices and supply chains

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a Cabinet Committee meeting in Islamabad on 16 October to review the stock position, supply arrangements, and prices of essential commodities. Dar was informed that sufficient stocks exist to satisfy domestic demand, with no shortages expected as prices begin to stabilise.
The deputy prime minister instructed all relevant authorities to oversee commodity pricing and supply chains closely. Strict action will be taken against those involved in hoarding, overpricing, or creating artificial shortages of essential goods, Dar warned.
Attending the session were the ministers for national food security and research and climate change. Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Bajwa and the Secretary, Commerce also participated in the meeting.
