Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi defends federal government stance during parliament sitting
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed a joint sitting of parliament to clarify the federal government's position on recent negotiations. The administration maintained discussions with the opposition and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government until the final moment of the session.
Naqvi stated that the federal delegation waited for hours while the other parties held consultations in a separate room. The government attempted to meet the demands of the opposing sides throughout the process.
Naqvi claimed that the federal government neither walked out of the talks nor imposed any unreasonable deadline on the other side. The minister insisted that negotiations were never a matter of ego for the federal government.
Officials sought to prevent the imposition of governor's rule or an emergency declaration.
